You can catch salmon, steelhead, trout, char and a multitude of saltwater species in the Sitka Area. There are a variety of effective and fun fishing techniques, some of our favorites are fly fishing in freshwater and cut plug bait in saltwater.
There are outstanding fishing opportunities in the Sitka area for all 5 species of salmon as well as trout, char and a multitude of saltwater species. The availability of different salmon species varies by the time of year, this is called run timing. Refer to the links provided to view the run timing charts created by ADF&G. The diverse fishing opportunities found in Sitka area will appeal to novice and seasoned anglers. Guided excursions are available that combine fishing with other experiences such as ATV riding or Sea Plane Flights. Explore your options and book your preferred trip in the convenient online catalog. All fishing trips include transportation, guide, gear, tackle, food/snacks and beverages. Not included are fishing license/stamp and fish processing. Freshwater wade fishing trips are catch and release. Take of fish is only allowed on the saltwater boat based fishing trips. For saltwater trips that take fish additional charges will apply for King Salmon Stamp and fish processing.
